How Do You Know When It’s Time to Replace Your AC Unit?
Are you unsure if the problems your AC unit is experiencing are reparable or if you should replace the whole system? Usually, AC repairs can be performed for a reasonable price and without too much mess, but occasionally, this may not be possible, and it may be more beneficial to you to replace it.
You should replace your AC unit if:
Your current cooling unit has required numerous repairs in the last 2-3 years
You are being faced with an expensive AC repair that costs about as much as a new unit
Your unit is 10 years old or older
Your current system uses freon to cool the air, instead of R410A refrigerant
Your unit has a SEER rating of less than 13, which can drive up your energy costs significantly
What Are Some Benefits to Ductless Cooling Systems?
Unlike other cooling and heating companies, Reliability Home Services offers ductless mini split installation as well as central AC installation! You may be thinking to yourself, why would I want ductless systems in every room of my house, when I can just have a central system running throughout my home? Wall-mounted units are ideal cooling systems for new additions to your home where installing ductwork might be too costly or inconvenient. They are also extremely energy efficient! Some studies have shown that up to 25% of your home’s energy is lost in the ductwork. Mini split systems have many more advantages over traditional ductless window units too!
The connection between the indoor unit and it’s outside compressor require only a small hole to be drilled, which reduces air leakage and security risks to your home compared to bulkier window units. If you are concerned about the aesthetic effect of a ductless cooling system in your home, indoor units are also less conspicuous and far less noisy than window units.
